Books Down the TBR Hole

Down the TBR Hole #1

I just added another book in my TBR shelf in Goodreads when I noticed that I couldn’t remember what half of the books in there was about. I also noticed that the first book in there was added on September 2015. Wow, that was a long time ago. So, I finally decided that it’s time to clean up and organize my TBR shelf in Goodreads and the perfect way to do that is the Down the TBR Hole meme started by Lost in a Story.

How It Works

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?

I will be doing 10 books weekly until I’ve finally cleaned up my TBR. I only have 50 and it’s not really too much but the thing is I’m not sure I still want to read the books in there because some books are added way back in 2015. Also, I will only be doing books that I don’t have a copy yet because those that I have, I will certainly read it soon. Okay, here goes:

Lola and the Boy Next Door and Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins

Actually, I don’t really know anything about these two books. I haven’t read their synopses before adding them to my TBR list. I only added them because I loved Anna and the French Kiss which I’ve read back in 2015. Now that I’ve read their synopses, I am so excited to read them. I’m pretty sure that these books will make me fall in love. I’m ready for some cute and light-hearted stories.

The Judgment: Keep

Mythology: Timeless Tales of Gods and Heroes by Edith Hamilton

Instantly, I decided to keep this book in my TBR because of two reasons: 1) I am venturing into the classics and 2) I am very interested with greek mythology. So, I’m looking forward to buying a copy of this book.

The Judgment: Keep

How to Disappear by Ann Redisch Stampler

I understand why I added this to my TBR because that synopsis is captivating! It sort of reminds me of Legend by Marie Lu which is one of my favorites! I have no idea about the author or what to expect from this book but I’m keeping it. I have no problems with experimenting on a young adult book because based on experience, YA surprises me. I found my favorite book because I decided to read the book even without prior knowledge about the book whatsoever.

The Judgment: Keep

The Lost & Found by Katrina Leno

The synopsis doesn’t really capture my interest even though the reviews in this book are decent.

The Judgment: Go

False Memory by Dan Krokos

I might have liked dystopian books back when I added this book in my TBR but I am not feeling it at the moment so I’m going to pass on this book.

The Judgment: Go

Cruel and Beautiful by A. M. Hangrove and Terri E. Laine

The things is…I’m not very fond of the New Adult genre. This book has lots of good reviews thought but I’m still not convinced enough.

The Judgment: Go

Dragon Slippers by Jessica Day George

I remember absolutely loving the Percy Jackson and the Olympian series back when I was a young girl. However, when I read Rick Riordan’s The Sword of Summer, I was turned off by his writing style. I was not able to appreciate it and I’ve realized that I’ve outgrown his style. So, I’m shying away from Middle Grade Books for a while.

The Judgment: Go

The Girl in the Well is Me by Karen Rivers

I think I added this book in my TBR because of the title. Absolutely captivating! However, having read the synopses, I realized that this book is tailored for younger readers.

The Judgment: Go

The Girlfriend Request by Jodie Andrefski

To be honest, I was really torn about what to do with this book. I am a sucker for romances that are about childhood friends. However, I got this vibe that maybe this book is immature. Still, I decided to give this book a try.
