Top 5 Wednesday: Favorites I’d Like to Revisit

Hello everyone! It’s Wednesday and time for another Top 5 Wednesday post. Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme currently hosted by Thoughts on Tomes. Here’s the goodreads group in case you want to participate too!

This week’s topic is Favorites that I Would Like to Revisit.  Truth is, I don’t really revisit books that I’ve read much, most especially books that I loved. I just have this fear that the book will change the second time that I read it. I usually reread a book I did not like in case the second read would give me a different perspective about the book. So, I fear that I get a different perspective on a book that I love… What if it’s not that great? Sometimes, though,  I get brave enough to revisit a favorite. And if I get that bravery soon, these are the books that I will definitely reread.

1. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

I remember loving this book and its characters. I remember this being a cute and light-hearted read that gave me butterflies all over my stomach. I remember falling in love through this book. That is why I would like to revisit this book – for its sweetness. Buy this book: Amazon | Book Depository

2. Fathomless by Jackson Pearce

When I was browsing my bookshelf in Goodreads to decide for this list, I saw  this book and noticed that I gave this five stars. To be honest, I don’t remember anything about this book. I read the synopsis and still, nothing. However, I remember that there is a mystery surrounding the book. I remember that the book gave me so much feelings. And I would like to revisit this book because I would like to remember why I added this in my Favorites shelf and I would like to re-experience finding out about this book. 3. The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan

This book is my favorite Adventure book. I have absolutely loved The Percy Jackson and the Olympian series as I was growing up. I remember learning about greek mythology through the book and loving the battles Percy faced. I would like to revisit this book because I want to re-experience the childhood wonder I get whenever I’m reading this book.Buy this book: Amazon | Book Depository

4. Finnikin of the Rock (The Lumatere Chronicles #1) by Melina Marchetta

The Lumatere Chronicles Series is my favorite trilogy. The book is full of mystery that I couldn’t help loving it so much. The characters are very 3-dimensional. The depth of the characters prove that Melina Marchetta tried so hard to put a soul into the book. The actions of the characters really make sense instead of being just convenient to the plot. This book also seems to be my favorite fantasy book. I really recommend this book to everyone.Buy this book: Amazon | Book Depository

5. On the Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta

This is my favorite book of all time. I just want to revisit the story again and again because this is the most beautiful story I have ever read. I have never read anything as compelling as On the Jellicoe Road. The characters are also very close to my heart, I’ve treated them like family after I’ve read the book. This book actually changed me. This book deserves love and so much more so I really recommend this to everyone.Buy this book: Amazon | Book Depository

So… that’s five of my favorite books that I would really like to revisit. I have given all of the books above five-stars rating because they all deserved it. I really think that these books are exceptional and you should read them too.

  1. I love Anna and the French Kiss when I first read it, but I recently read Lola and I didn’t enjoy it so I guess my taste have changed and I’m curious of what I think of AATFK now 😀 I have reread The Last Olympian and I’m happy to say it’s still amazing and my favorite out of all PJO books!

    1. I haven’t read Lola and the Boy Next Door yet, that has been in my TBR for years now, I wish I can read it soon.

I really love the PJO books but I didn’t really connect with the newer books by Rick Riordan, I guess I’ve grown up!

  2. “To be honest, I don’t remember anything about this book. I read the synopsis and still, nothing.”

Lol. This sounds like me with a lot of the books I read and literally everything I watch on TV. I can watch a movie 10 times and still be shocked by the ending. :p

    1. It’s quite a blessing, isn’t it? Because you can re-experience it? That’s why I rarely rewarch or reread because if it’s sad because I’ll be crying all over again 🙂
